Student Instructions for Day 1 Monday:
  1. Read all instructions for each number for today’s assignment before starting to make sure you are fully prepared for what is expected.
  2. Open up Inspiration and create a flow map as a timeline for world history. Using the following criteria:.
    1. Choose at least 5 and no more than 10 major events in world history starting with Ancient Rome (i.e. The inventions, the spread of the empire, the fall of the empire), and include events up to and including current day events such as (The last Space Shuttle Launch, the Iraq War, etc.)
    2. Put the events in your Flow Map in chronological Order from earliest to latest time of event happening in history.
    3. Include a brief 1-2 sentence with proper grammar, spelling of the event.
    4. Use colors and images to differentiate the events and to show the event.
    5. On your flow map also include links to your sources (Wikipedia is not an acceptable source. Using our prior assignments for research from the start of the year please find reputable sources for this assignment!!!) as a hyperlink do not just put the URL. If you need help please ask the instructor. You must have at least 3 primary sources. Also include your source information as a hyperlink for any images you use.
    6. Save your Flow Map to your Flash Drive this will be turned in on Thursday to Webcourses.
  3. Open Microsoft Word or you can also use Inspiration for this as well and create a storyboard for a digital Movie based on your flow map and the events you chose to include. Since we did this for our unit prior to this you should be familiar with how to do this assignment. Your storyboard should include the following:
      1. What events you will be showing in your movie that were included in your Flow Map. Put them in order and label your storyboard with it.
      2. What Transitions do you plan on using and what order you will be using them? Make sure you decide and label it on your storyboard.
      3. Will your narration be you be just putting text on the movie slides or voicing the narration make that decision and write out the labels or write the script and include it with your storyboard.
        1. Choose the audio will you be using and label it on the storyboard
        2. Choose the images you will be using and put them in order with the events they represent.
        3. You also need a title slide with a Title, your name, and the class period you’re in.
        4. Your sources should also be included here for your last slide in your video for credits.
        5. This is your blueprint for your Digital Movie, the instructor should be able to look at your storyboard and have it be in the order that the movie occurs and it should walk the instructor from the beginning of the movie, to the end on paper.
  4. You will start your Digital Movie slides in class today. You will start creating and adding the movie in class but you will need to finish this outside of class for homework using your laptops. Make sure to save your work on your Flash Drive. This assignment is due on Thursday before class starts with late submissions being accepted with 10 points deducted. The movie should include:
        1. Title slide with your name, class period and the Title of your movie
        2. Minimum of 5 maximum of 10 events in Chronological Order depicted with Images
        3. Narration either with labels of text, or voiced narration
        4. Audio included
        5. Transitions (i.e. fades etc…)
        6. Credits that include all sources properly documented in MLA format.
        7. If you rush your work will suffer so please take your time on these assignments but if you finish and have checked all of your work, everything is complete and is filled with substance and is grammatically correct then you may free read. Keep in mind that this assignment should be smooth, without errors so make sure you have used reputable sources and appropriate music, images, and that your source citing is correct and done for each and every piece of information that you used that is not your own free thought.
